Celebrating 500 Posts: A Journey from the Paranormal to Wellness with Sheila

“From Ectoplasm to Enlightenment: My Website’s Metamorphosis”

Year: 2012/ The Ghostly Genesis

Back in 2012, I embarked on a digital odyssey—a humble website that would soon become my canvas for exploration. Little did I know that this virtual space would be my conduit to realms beyond the mundane.

My site became my sanctuary—a place where the curious congregated. We delved into the enigmatic, dissecting EVPs, deciphering cryptic symbols, and chasing after elusive apparitions. My site thrived on the intersection of spirit and science, beliefs and skepticism. It was a haven for the cosmic wanderers, the seekers of the unseen.

500 Posts: A Journey Through the Veil

Fast-forward to today, and my website boasts 500 posts—each a testament to my insatiable hunger for knowledge. But these aren’t just ordinary articles; they’re fragments of my soul, etched in pixels and HTML. Let me take you on a spectral tour of my metamorphosis:

The Paranormal Chronicles:

My early posts were steeped in ectoplasmic intrigue. I shared EVP recordings, and debated the existence of shadow beings. The veil between worlds was thin, and I reveled in its mysteries.

The Whispering Winds of Change:

As the years passed, I felt a shift—a cosmic nudge urging me toward new horizons. The paranormal, once my muse, began to fade like a ghostly apparition at dawn. I yearned for more—a deeper purpose.

My Awakening:

The time had come for my resonation with cosmic vibrations. I shed my spectral pseudonym and stepped into the light. Sheila wasn’t just a name; I became a vessel—an embodiment of transformation.

Wellness with Sheila:

My website underwent an alchemical transformation. The paranormal archives receded, replaced by yoga, mindfulness, and holistic health. Wellness with Sheila emerged—a sanctuary for soul seekers, a refuge for those yearning to align mind, body, and spirit.

The Cosmic Curriculum: What You’ll Find Today

Conclusion: Beyond the Veil

As I pen my 500th post (actually this one is my 501st post ☺️), I honor the spectral whispers that birthed my siteIt was here, in the twilight of the paranormal, that I glimpsed eternity. And now, as Wellness with Sheila, I invite you to dance with the cosmos—to awaken the universe within.

The Yin ~ Yang Chronicles: Living in the Gray. The balance between Good & Evil

The Yin ~ Yang Chronicles: Living in the Gray. The balance between Good & Evil, my new book is out! Super excited! Here’s where you can get the Kindle edition available on Amazon!

In the quiet corners of existence, where light and shadow entwine, I found my muse—the delicate dance of yin and yang. It was there, amidst the whispers of forgotten realms, that the tapestry of my life began to unravel, revealing threads of hope, fear, and the eternal struggle between good and evil.

The Yin ~ Yang Chronicles: Living in the Gray. The Balance between Good & Evil emerged from this cosmic dance, a collection of stories that beckon readers to explore the edges of existence. As I put pen to paper, I wove together fragments of dreams and nightmares, creating a mirror that reflects both salvation and damnation.

Within the Pages of Yin

Hope blossoms like fragile petals in the moonlight. Each story in Yin invites you to step beyond the mundane, to embrace the ethereal whispers of possibility. Here, the abyss is not merely a void; it is a chalice of potential. As dreamers, we sip from its elixir of longing, our hearts daring to reach for brighter dawns.

In the quietude of ancient forests, a lost soul encounters a spectral guardian—a bridge between realms. In the flicker of candlelight, a forbidden love blooms, defying the boundaries of life and death. And within the ink-stained pages of forgotten grimoires, secrets unravel, revealing paths to hidden truths.

The Shadows of Yang

But as light casts its hopeful glow, shadows deepen. Yang takes us into the abyssal depths, where nightmares fester and secrets coil like serpents. Here, fear wears many faces—a haunting melody, a cursed artifact, a forbidden pact. These are the stories that delve into the heart of darkness, where the line between hero and villain blurs.

In the moon-lit streets of a hopeless city, a fallen deity grapples with its own existence, questioning the nature of good and evil. In the desolate wastelands, a lone wanderer confronts a malevolent force that feeds on despair. And within the minds of fractured souls, battles rage—a cosmic tug-of-war between redemption and destruction.

Dancing on the Edge of Duality

As you turn these pages, remember that life is a delicate balance. We teeter on the precipice, our footsteps echoing across the chasm. The abyss is our mirror—a reflection of hopes and terrors. Dare to unlock its mysteries, for within lies the essence of our humanity.

The Yin ~ Yang Chronicles: Living in the Gray. The balance between Good & Evil is not just a book; it is an invitation. An invitation to explore the gray spaces, where contradictions merge, and where salvation and damnation intertwine. As you read the Kindle edition, know that you are reading a piece of my soul—a testament to the eternal dance of light and shadow.

Interview with paranormal investigator, Craig M.!

Today I’m welcoming Craig M., lead paranormal investigator of Our Paranormal World. Thank you, Craig for stopping by!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and got to live all over Canada growing up. I actually went to more schools than grades which afforded me many experiences although I wouldn’t recommend growing up that way. I was always the new kid so always the target for bullies.

However, I did get to see a lot of Canada – and the United States as my parents were avid travelers – while I was growing up and I’ll be forever thankful for that.

Why did you become a paranormal investigator?

My last years living at home with my parents we lived in Victoria, British Columbia which is absolutely gorgeous – a beach was a 10 minute walk for me – but also one of Canada’s most haunted cities. This was in the 80’s so people were in their full Satanic Panic mode bringing the paranormal into mainstream life. There, literally, used to be people with signs in downtown Victoria saying come and join our Satan Cult lol.

A book was published during this time too supposedly chronicling a girl’s story after she was sold to a Satanic Cult called ‘Michelle Remembers”. It took place in Victoria so all the places in the book were easily accessible. You can imagine how fast teenagers consumed this book. In the end the book was proved fraudulent but it became a must for every teenager in Victoria to read.

The paranormal stayed with me but I didn’t become an actual paranormal investigator – meaning purposely going to haunted locations – until the late 90’s. By that time I was back in Ontario and began with the Province’s most haunted area; the area around Niagara Falls and locations such as the Screaming Tunnel, Blue Ghost Tunnel, Erie Beach and the 19th century forts – Erie, George and Mississauga.

Do you have a favorite location?

During the time I was really starting out there was a Holy Grail location just east of Toronto that was an old psychiatric hospital. Rumours said it was impossible to access that security was tight and it was surrounded by 10 foot fences etc. One day a friend of mine and I drove out to the site to see for ourselves and found the rumours were anything but the truth. So began my relationship with Whitby Psychiatric Hospital which was like Disneyland for paranormal investigators. Over 25 buildings on a huge campus it was much like an abandoned small town.To this day it is the most paranormally active place I’ve ever investigated.I was there almost every night for about a year and really learned how to investigate the paranormal. I also learned about my own skills as a medium. Unfortunately it has since been demolished and houses built over the site.

What’s the most bizarre otherworldly experience you’ve ever encountered?

Whew that’s a tough one. The first time I ever let a spirit inside me. I’m a conscious medium – I’m not sure if that’s the right term but its the one I use – so I’m aware when someone else is sharing my body; its rather like watching a movie inside your own head. My experience with this was a teenage girl named Kaitlyn in one of the adolescent buildings at Whitby Psych. I saw the world as she did so the site back in another time when it was fully operational which was strange enough. Looking down my body was an even bigger shock as I’m definitely not used to having breasts haha that was a very bizarre experience.

Can you describe the most frightening case you’ve ever investigated?

I investigated a cemetery where a regiment of snipers from the War of 1812 was buried. Every second we were there you could feel them in the surrounding forest lining up the back of your head for a kill shot. They were not interested in communication or being investigated just in doing their job. It’s the first and only time I’ve felt the energy that someone gives off when they are getting ready to kill you. As you can imagine its not pleasant at all. Eventually they began to get closer and we left the site the energy had became so unpleasant.

I was also picked up and thrown against a tree by a dark entity when I first started doing investigations. I had no protection against negative energy at the time. I never made that mistake again.

Do you feel that all spirits are bad?

Absolutely not.

For ghosts its the same ratio as between good and bad people. If you were a nasty person in life you’re a nasty ghost and vice versa.

As for entities that are not and never were human; yes I’ve come across lots of them and yes some of them I would consider evil. Imo the universe is balanced between good and bad on all levels

Being a paranormal investigator, do you follow a certain routine while investigating and how do you protect yourself from anything negative?

The physical world is far more apt to hurt you then the metaphysical so my first action in every investigation is to fully map out the area and make sure I’m aware of any dangers. Generally I don’t do a lot of research on places I’m going to investigate as it can mess with the results. I will then use my ability to sense energy to identify areas with etheric energy and possible paranormal activity. Then I attempt to verify my senses with equipment

I also like to go through a site in daylight first especially in an abandoned building so I can see all the dangers

As for protection for against negativity its become second nature to me now but basically I surround myself in gold light and ask my high guide as well as any other positive forces in the universe to help which up to the individual – personally I’m closest to the Egyptian and Native American powers (and my recent trip to Ireland brought me much closer to the Celtic powers).

What’s your favorite piece of paranormal equipment to use and why?

I’d say the voice recorder as it picks up so much that we cannot hear with our limited human hearing. I try to interact with the spirits as much as possible as the intelligent and aware ones are a wealth of information much of which can sometimes only be heard through a recording.

I’m just beginning to use a spirit box which, when it works, would be far superior as the answers are in real time. The biggest downfall of a voice recorder is that by the time you hear the answers the ghost has probably moved on.

Any words of wisdom you’d like to share?

Those of us who are serious paranormal investigators make a big deal about well being serious lol. The truth is you can still have fun as long as you’re respectful and taking the gathering of evidence seriously. Always remember ghosts were once living people and need to be treated as such. You wouldn’t run up to a stranger in the street, shove a microphone in their face and start taking pictures of them and blast them with questions. Ego has no part in paranormal investigating. As for purposely antagonizing ghosts on purpose I wish there was a way to punish people who do this – no true investigator would do this without a very good reason to do so. I’ve spent hundreds of hours at haunted locations calming the ghosts down after some idiot did this.

Interview with Ghost Hunting Housewives!

Today I am welcoming the paranormal investigative team, Ghost Hunting Housewives. Thank you Carol and Crystal for stopping by!

How did you come up with the name, Ghost Hunting Housewives?

We came up with the name Ghost
Hunting Housewives because we
are women who have a passion for
investigating the paranormal. We
are also wives and mothers who
balance our personal lives with our
love of ghost hunting. We’ve been
best friends for over 20 years.

What got you into the paranormal? Was it an experience, curiosity…. or?

We got into paranormal
investigating because we’ve both
had unexplainable experiences
since childhood, which we’ve
carried into our adulthood. We’re
very connected and have the
ability to communicate our
thoughts and ideas without using
physical senses. We’ve both had
terrible car accidents with near￾death experiences as well. We’ve
been told that we’ve spent many
past lives together. This made us
curious about the unknown and we
wanted to explore the unexplained
phenomena that surrounds us.

What kind of locations do you investigate?

We mainly investigate residential
locations, including private homes
and businesses. We also investigate
historical sites, cemeteries, and
other locations with a reputation
for being haunted.

Has anything ghostly ever followed you home after an investigation? And if so, how did you deal with it?

We’ve had some experiences where
we believe that something has
followed us home, but we have
techniques to protect ourselves
and cleanse our homes of any
lingering energy.

What’s the most rewarding part about being a paranormal investigative team?

The most rewarding part of being a
paranormal investigative team is
being able to help people who are
experiencing paranormal activity.
We use our skills to investigate and,
if necessary, offer assistance in
resolving any issues that our
clients may be facing due to
paranormal activity.

What role does each team member take part in?

There are only two of us, so we
work together to investigate and
document any paranormal activity
that we encounter. There’s no set
role for either of us. This is where
our connection to each other really
comes in handy. We just go our own
way to get things ready for an
investigation.

How can Ghost Hunting Housewives be contacted if someone needs your help?

We can be contacted through our
social media channels if someone
needs our help. You can also email
us at
ghosthuntinghousewives505@gma
il.com.

Any advice you’d like to offer to future paranormal investigators?

Our advice for future paranormal
investigators would be to always be
respectful of the location you’re
investigating and the people living
or working there. Also, make sure
you’re prepared with the right
equipment and know how to use it
properly.

“The O in the Ghost Hunting Housewives’ logo is designed to resemble a yin-yang symbol. This represents the balance that we believe is necessary when investigating paranormal activity.

Balancing positive and negative energies is crucial to our paranormal investigation process. The white portion of the symbol represents positive energy, associated with love, light, and spirituality. This energy enables us to approach investigations with compassion and empathy, particularly when dealing with spirits who may be in distress.

On the other hand, the red portion of the symbol represents negative energy, associated with darkness, fear, and evil. While it can be tempting to view all paranormal activity negatively, we believe it is important to maintain balance in order to avoid misguided conclusions.

By embracing the balance between positive and negative energies, we are able to approach paranormal investigations with a grounded, open-minded perspective. This balance is key to our success as paranormal investigators.” ~ Carol & Crystal of Ghost Hunting Housewives

The Infamous and Macabre LaLaurie Mansion

Yesterday was a gorgeous day! It started off rainy, but cleared up with a nice January coastal temperature reaching the mid seventies. My family and I decided to drive west three hours to have breakfast at one of our fave places…. Cafe du Monde. While in New Orleans, we walked around and checked out the LaLaurie Mansion. Unfortunately, we were unable to go inside, but still able to visit. It’s reported to be extremely haunted! The following tells of its macabre history….

“Tales of murder, mystery, and mayhem flow throughout the history of New Orleans, but none are more captivating than the LaLaurie Mansion. Madame Marie Delphine LaLaurie was a notable Creole socialite before tales of unimaginable cruelty and killing swirled.

The gorgeous Royal Street mansion is located in the heart of the French Quarter. The family spared no expense decorating, shipping in ornate décor from Europe. The house was the talk of the town and home to many extravagant affairs until the dark truth was uncovered.

Slaves mysteriously disappeared, never to be heard from again, screams of ungodly torture could be heard coming from the upstairs, and the Madame’s personal slave jumped from the roof to her death allegedly to avoid being taken to the room of terror.

It was thought Madame LaLaurie’s husband knew of the sadistic happenings but turned a blind eye.

As rumors of grisly behavior echoed throughout the town, the once sought after socialite was avoided, parties unattended. Since it was illegal to mistreat slaves, the Madame was forced to relinquish hers. However, they were given to family members and she acquired back a few at a time.

Although whispers of slave mistreatment swarmed through the town, the reality of Madame LaLaurie’s insanity was unearthed in 1834 when a fiery blaze started in the kitchen uncovered dark secrets as it swept through the mansion. According to legend, the fire was set by a slave trying to commit suicide because she could no longer endure the torture of the lady of the house.

During the cleanup, more than a dozen slaves were found chained upstairs, maimed and tortured. Both men and women, some strapped to a makeshift operating table while others were confined in cages, human body parts were scattered around. Heads and human organs thrown in buckets, other body parts were placed on shelves next to whips and paddles.

After a mob showed up to ransack the mansion, the LaLaurie’s fled town never to be heard from again. Since then, blood curdling screams can be heard at all hours of the night, figures can be seen floating around.” ~ https://www.neworleansghostadventurestour.com/news/the-lalaurie-house-haunting/?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5NSdBhDfARIsALzs2ECiujxF7D2ai47Bku5tG1h2H6jcBtJTetEH3sg3-vZd9X1sMeUmk_AaAvljEALw_wcB

The following is a photo of the LaLaurie Mansion. Even with it’s dreaded history, the location is still very beautiful. And just after the first photo, are additional ones we took while we were visiting New Orleans. Love that architecture!!!

Stay blessed, everyone and know that you are all loved!

Men In Black

“Here come the men in black, the galaxy defenders……” ok, no worries, I’m not going to start singing the song. I’m sure Will Smith wouldn’t approve and luckily for you, by reading this, you’re not tortured by hearing my unmelodious voice. 😉 And I’m not here to talk about the hit film starring the very talented Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. However, I am a huge fan of their movies!

BUT……. I am talking about the supposedly real-life individuals known as the “Men In Black” (MIBs). Just like the Hollywood portrayals, these non-fictitious characters primarily wear black suits, white button-up shirts and black ties. They are reportedly some sort of secret organization that has been obviously denied by certain officials. It’s been said that the mysterious Men In Black appear anytime UFO sightings have been experienced. Why? Possible cover-up involvement? To insure that UFO witnesses remain quiet about what they have seen? By intimidating and threatening those who dare to speak publicly about any sort of UFO interactions?

Throughout recent decades, many supporters/investigators of ufology have supposedly been harassed and some have even died by mysterious causes. Are the MIBs to blame for all of this misfortune? Who knows?? It’s also alleged that the Men In Black have taped and recorded UFO hunters’ phones.

I personally have never experienced anything like this nor have I seen an alien or UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) of any kind. I’ve only witnessed shadow people, clairaudient experiences, touched by spirits and other paranormal encounters similar to those, but never aliens. I do know people who have claimed to have seen visitors from other planets, but none of them have ever told me about any visitors from the “Men In Black”.

So, do these well-dressed individuals actually exist or….??? I wouldn’t wanna find out…….

MIB 145

A Ghostly Perspective

This next post was inspired by a film that I’ve recently watched titled, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia. The film is based on a true story and here is its description: “A historic Southern home’s new residents come face to face with a malevolent force.”

While watching, that was when it dawned on me that I was already familiar with the people portrayed in the film. I had seen them on other paranormal shows talking about their story and discussing the daughter’s ability of clairvoyance and communicating with the dead.

After I finished watching the film, it got me to thinking about ghosts and why some of them seem to be so malevolent. Perhaps their spirit isn’t actually malevolent at all. Maybe they just seem that way because they are trying to convey a message to the living. And after countless failed attempts of communication with the living, the ghosts become enraged because they have something to say but have no way of reaching the other side.

I know it may sound crazy, even far-fetched, but it made me think. So, by the time these ghosts finally find someone with whom they are able to communicate, they’re ready to unleash all their built-up emotions. And with the rush of feeling (and the fact that they’re dead) it’s easy to understand why the living can get so terrified by a paranormal encounter.

It makes total sense to me. Put yourself in their position. One day you’re walking down the street and all is well, then unfortunately something tragically out of the blue happens and you’re no longer part of the living. You’re now on the other side. You’re terrified, freaking out and you have no one to turn to. You try so hard to communicate with the living, but nothing – nadda. You try and try until one day your persistence finally becomes successful when you’re able to communicate with someone. But by this time, when you’re able to speak to a clairvoyant or whomever, you’ve got all this rush of excitement and that’s what scares the living because it becomes too overwhelming for them to handle.

Now this isn’t me in any way, shape or form, discarding all malevolent entities as non-malevolent. Extreme caution should always be utilized when investigating the paranormal because there are evil creatures/beings on the other side. So, be careful!

But the film did make me think and I wanted to share……

The Endeared

One, two, three and four.
The petals are soft, but they still hit the floor.
Plucked from the bloom, the rose lays bare
in the hands of the jaded without a care.

A bodice draped in elegant lace
defines the figure of Victorian grace.
Staring out the window, vision’s a blur
from tear filled eyes longing for a cure.

Strong is the will waiting to survive,
creating the happiness to make one feel alive.

Suddenly, a love that’s been removed
now comes into view,
a view that’s been long over due.

The faint smell of a cigar quickly fills the
room with no smoke in sight.
Accompanied by a warm, curious feeling,
nothing of fright.

The ghostly vision comes clear
as he approaches her near.
To him she says sadly, “I’ve aged a bit.”
He sweetly replies, “Not in my eyes. I still see you as exquisite.”

Then he caresses her cheek softly and full of love. He adds,
“I still see you as my beautiful dove.”
A smile sweeps across her wrinkled face,
so elegant and full of grace.
She whispers, “I love you, my dear for all eternity.”
He nods, “I know, my sweet for our love shall forever be.”

Fear Cemeteries?

Fear cemeteries? Wait, no way… not me!!

Hmmm…. The fascination of cemeteries, graves, headstones, gargoyles…. etc. etc…. To many, they are quite attracted to such places. Why? Well, to me (and yes, I am one of those who find these macabre locations to be rather intriguing.) there’s something serene about the atmosphere. I am at such peace when I am at a cemetery. Which, if one truly thinks about it, should be comforting to know that the dead are “resting in peace”. After all, I am an empath and can feel the deceased’s energy. 😉

Did you know that there is actually a name for this curious allure? It’s referred to as coimetromania. According to an online definition, it’s simply defined as “An abnormal attraction to and desire to visit cemeteries.” There are many, many people with this interest. And I’m sure that with each individual, their reasoning is just as unique as they are……Find out more by reading….. A Grave Attraction

Paranormal Investigative Equipment: What’s Your Pick?

There are so many different types of equipment that one can use while conducting a paranormal investigation, even supposedly fully equipped ghost hunting kits that claim to have everything one needs. Interesting…. do these kits come with an unlimited supply of batteries? Ghosts are known to drain batteries for the energy. So, if these kits don’t come with batteries, they’re not fully equipped now are they? Just a random thought… 😉

Anywho, the pieces of equipment that an investigator can add to his/her collection can be quite impressive to say the least. The technology and research required to create such devices go way beyond my level of education. Such devices like a full spectrum digital camera that can be used to capture videos and photos. Another one is the Ghost Box Ovilus that “converts environmental readings into real words”. Then, there are Rem Pods that detect energy disturbances and fluctuations. And, there’s even digital thermometers that are created to locate temperature changes. The list goes on and on with the various tools that one can use in hunting the paranormal. Pendulums and divining rods are a couple of other ones as well. The routine and methods used are as unique as the investigator conducting the investigation.

Here is where I want some interaction. From you, the daring individuals who aren’t afraid to go out and search for the unknown. Tell me, share with us all, what’s YOUR favorite piece of equipment to use while investigating the spectral realm? And why?
